Happy New Year! I’d like to start this year off by looking back at some of the great weddings I was privileged to have photographed here in Boston and further afield last year.
I photographed weddings all through New England, from wedding photos in Boston in the heart of the city, to farms in New Hampshire and coastal weddings down in Rhode Island. Each one was unique and just as much fun as the last. It was a true pleasure to have been part of so many happy days last year and I’m looking forward to what the next year will bring.
Some of the New England weddings I photographed last year are yet to have a complete blog post but this will give you a little sneak peek into some of those.
These are just a small sample of some of my favorite wedding images from 2012 and I’ll be posting a few more in part 2 (and maybe 3) very soon.
Thank you so much again to all those couples that I had the chance to work with in 2012 and for those that I have already given me the green light to capture in 2013. I really looking forward to another great here photographing weddings in New England, from The Cape up into Maine.
If you would like to get in touch about discussing coverage options for your wedding in 2013 then please don’t hesitate to get in touch. I only have so many weekends in the year as I photograph every New England wedding that I book and the weekends fill up quick. Drop me a message from the contact page and we can get going to plan out the perfect coverage for you and your big day.
All the best for 2013, I hope that you are all looking forward to it as much as me.
Katie and Ryan were married on the West Coast of the US earlier this year, but got in touch with me to shoot their East coast wedding celebrations back here in Boston. They were staying at the Liberty Hotel in Boston, and were having their reception party at the Museum of Science in Cambridge MA. Wedding photos at the Liberty Hotel in Boston give the photographer some wonderful backdrops to build in, and having a wedding at the Museum of Science in Cambridge just down the road offered another equally stunning location to capture them some great Boston wedding photos.
As a fairly recent transplant to the region, I hadn’t had the chance to photograph a New England wedding at either one of these locations yet and was really looking forward to shooting with Katie and Ryan, both of whom were an absolute pleasure to work with. We started off with a few preparation shots at the Liberty Hotel and then moved into the main part of the hotel to get some portraits of Katie and Ryan together there. The main reception of the Liberty Hotel is a wonderful space, still maintaining a lot of the old traits from the days when it used to be a jail here in Boston. The wonderful old backdrop coupled with modern furnishings gives it a very unique feel, and has now joined my ever-growing list of favorite spaces to shoot weddings in Boston.
I wanted to capture the grandness of the space, but also get Ryan and Katie some more intimate shots in it as well. I think we did a great job of getting both of these aspects into their Boston wedding photographs and we luckily had a bit of time before heading over to the Museum of Science in Cambridge to get some shots near the entrance and use the escalators as well.
We met up with the rest of the family in time to get Ryan and Katie into the reception room in the Museum of Science so that they could welcome their guests as they arrived. This location was another one I had yet to shoot at and it was a real pleasure working with all the staff here that helped to make Katie and Ryan’s run smoothly. We took advantage of the balcony at the back of the reception room that overlooked the Charles River and had some wonderful evening light falling onto it, to capture some more photos for Katie and Ryan and the rest of the family.
Although they were not having another wedding ceremony here in Boston, they did have another cake, after all you can’t properly celebrate without cake :) After the meal and the dancing was underway, we managed to once again make use of the balcony as the sun set, and to got some different shots by night with Boston lit in the background. It was great fun working with Ryan and Katie for their New England wedding reception at the Museum of Science and to meet their wonderful families.
