Will and Christine were married in a wonderful ceremony in Oklahoma before they had their East coast celebrations, but they also wanted to celebrate with their friends and family here in Boston. I had the pleasure of photographing the event at the Hyatt Regency in Boston, where they held a traditional tea ceremony and other festivities.
We started coverage for the day by capturing Will and Christine at Boston Common, and I have to say, these guys looked absolutely stunning. We had a good amount of time to capture photos of them together on the Common and so we made use of a few different locations each one offering something different and unique. It wasn’t hard to find a bad spot for these newly-weds, I think they would have looked great wherever we shot.
Being late fall, there was a chill in the air, which was refreshing after a hot summer, but it meant that we didn’t want to spend ages outside. The time we had was perfect though, and the early evening light was gorgeous to work with.
They were holding their East coast reception and party at the Hyatt Regency in downtown Boston. This was the first time I was shooting at this venue and it was a pleasure to do so. The staff there were very accommodating and professional and the reception rooms are stunning and very grand; I can’t wait to shoot another wedding there.
Will and Christine held their Chinese tea ceremony shortly after we arrived back from taking their wedding photos on Boston Common and it was a packed house with lots of family. Christine had changed into her traditional red dress for the ceremony and Will had changed into traditional clothing as well and just when I thought these guys couldn’t get any more photogenic I was proven wrong!
I had the chance to get some great family shots, both formal and candid, throughout the evening, and with some of their younger family and friends attending there were more than a few cheeky little smiles and grins from a group of young lads throughout the evening. I left before the serious dancing started, but I’m sure there were some great moves thrown down on the dance floor that evening. The Hyatt Regency in downtown Boston was the perfect backdrop for their wedding party and it was a treat to photograph there.
I had an absolute pleasure with Will and Christine and all of their families, and I wish them all the very best for their future together. Thank you both kindly for allowing me to capture your day for you and I hope you’ll have fun and fond memories looking back over the photos in the years to come.
