I had been looking forward to shooting Erin and Randy’s wedding ever since they got in touch to discuss coverage. I had the pleasure of meeting them both at Matt and Holly’s wedding that I shot earlier last year, so I already knew them both and was excited to see this group of friends together again so soon at another wedding.
The chance to capture Erin and Randy’s wedding photos at The Stone House in Little Compton Rhode Island, and at the historic United Congregational Church just down the road was also exciting because these were both new locations for me, and it’s great to work with new environments. They were equally beautiful as well and the area surrounding them was stunning, decked out in late Fall colors.
I started with Erin, who was getting ready at The Stone House, with her friends and family staying there as well. The late October morning couldn’t have been any more perfect with the sun pouring in through the grand windows of the main building and warming the rooms. I took the chance to use this beautiful light to capture the details of the dress and flowers as well as all the preparations for the ladies.
I left The Stone House with plenty of time to get to the United Congregational Church and meet up with Randy and his side of the party and get some shots with them together. Again the vibrant fall colors really popped and provided a perfect back drop for some great portraits. They couldn’t have asked for a better day weather-wise.
The ceremony in the Congregational Church was a full Mass, and this is always nice as it gives me a lot of time to capture a variety of photos from different positions and locations. The area around the church was so nice that we couldn’t pass it up, and I was able get some images of Erin and Randy after the ceremony as well.
We headed back to The Stone House after they wedding ceremony, and Erin and Randy had the chance to catch up with all of their guests, and I had the opportunity to capture the group formals and more images of the newlyweds as well. As a wedding venue, The Stone House in Rhode Island really gives you so much – The house itself creates a wonderful backdrop and the massive grass lawn leading down to the ocean is great for guests to spend the early parts of the evening reception.
Shortly after sunset, we moved inside and onto the serious business of kicking off the evening’s celebrations, it started off with a number of moving and funny speeches before some serious moves were thrown down on the dance floor. The party was still going strong when I left for the evening and I’m sure that Erin and Randy enjoyed their whole day of festivities with all their friends and family until the very end of the night. Thank you both for allowing me the chance to capture your special day.

Very well done — I love the shot with everyone watching them kiss. Using the two decks of the mansion was the perfect idea!
